Research interests include surface water and snow hydrology, remote sensing, and ecohydrology, specifically focusing on the processes controlling hydrologic fluxes in cold regions and within the greater Earth system. Current projects utilize ground-based observations, remote sensing, and computational modeling to obtain comprehensive understanding of hydrological processes. In addition I study water, carbon, and nitrogen fluxes and the feedbacks between water availability and carbon cycling in montane forests.
