I am interested in ecosystem ecology and biogeochemistry, focused on tropical terrestrial ecosystems. I seek to advance our understanding of the response of plant and soil microbial processes to global change (i.e., drought, warming, land-use), and how this will affect carbon and nutrient cycling. As part of the NSF Luquillo Critical Zone Observatory, my research will focus on the coupling of biogeochemical cycles (Fe-C-P) and measuring trace gas fluxes in a dynamic soil redox environment across multiple spatial and temporal scales in the Luquillo Experimental Forest.
