I am interested in soil chemistry/biogeochemistry. In my current PhD program, I am studying the interaction between iron oxides and carbon in soils. Particularly, I am interested in the stabilization of soil organic carbon during redox fluctuations in soils, and determining the role iron plays in this important process. I am part of both Luquillo and Calhoun CZOs. In my MS I worked with phytoremediation of organic contaminants, and in my undergrad (Agronomy) in Brazil I worked with pedology. I am fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese (native).
