Barbara Boxer touts clean energy in UC Merced visit
The UC Merced campus received a rare visit on the first day of classes. As Democratic U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer walked through the Sierra Nevada Research Institute on Thursday morning, Roger Bales, director of the institute, and Ryan Lucas, a graduate student, talked to her about some of the research projects under way at the institute. Many of them deal with water supply and climate change.
