Luquillo CZO PI Xavier Comas, Professor of Geosciences at Florida Atlantic University, joined the Susquehanna Shale Hills CZO team along with colleague, Greg Mount, Professor of Geosciences at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, for three field days in May. Day 1 included a presentation by Comas “Using hydrogeophysical methods to understand the spatial distribution of the bedrock-regolith interface in the Rio Icacos watershed," to familiarize the SSHO team with hydrogeophysical methods. Throughout Day 2 and 3, ground penetrating radar and terrain conductivity methods were applied in the greater watershed of Garner Run, to increase the understanding of and changes in geophysical properties of the subsurface along the regolith-bedrock interface. In addition to CZO team members, several graduate and undergraduate students from Geosc 483 Environmental Geophysics participated with the field campaign.
