My research goals at the Shale Hills CZO site are to: quantify concentration-discharge relationships, and especially the role of groundwater in affecting concentrations of different solutes over time; measure streambed exchange dynamics using distributed temperature sensing (DTS), point thermal measurements, tracer injection tests, and geochemical changes; contribute to our understanding of the locations and drivers of rock weathering processes by combining our understanding of surface water, throughflow, and groundwater dynamics.
