Terrestrial Ecosystem and Microbial Ecology. Current research projects include: impact of climate change on Sierra Nevada Ecosystems, biogeochemical changes during ecosystem development, influence of invasive plants on soil ecological interactions in grassland ecosystems, fire ecology of forest ecosystems, and ecological genetics of foundation plant species.
