Puerto Rico is currently in a tropical storm warning due to the pending approach of Tropical Storm Bertha which is expected to pass near the island on Saturday.  We will begin preparations for closure as follows:

-   close visitor facilities by 1PM today including El Portal  and recreation facilities in the Forest
-   close the gate at La Coca Falls at COB today
-   the Forest will remain closed to the public Saturday and Sunday
-   we will conduct an assessment on Monday and make a determination on when it is safe to re-open to the public
-   administrative leave for EYNF employees will begin today at 1PM
