I conduct applied research in various aspects of cold regions hydrology, ranging from permafrost thaw impacts on surface water to spatial variability in snow accumulation and melt. As a numerical modeler, I am especially interested in filling in gaps in understanding of physical processes through an integration of numerical models, geospatial data, and field observation. At the Sierra Nevada Research Institute, University of California Merced, I am currently studying potential future changes in runoff (timing and quantity) from rain-snow transition zones of alpine watersheds with climate and land use change.
