NationalMy research aims determine how metals cycle between living organisms and their environment. I use traditional soil science practices with advanced chemical methods to identify and quantify the movement of metals in terrestrial ecosystems. My areas of interest include: 1) uptake of toxic metals by biota and vegetation, 2) influence of pedogenesis on fate and transport of metals, 3) human impacts on the accumulation and retention of plant-essential and toxic metals in soil.
