This year is the 75th anniversary of the International Institute of Tropical Forestry. Created in 1939, in cooperation with the University of Puerto Rico, the Institute been a leader in tropical forestry research, technology transfer and technical assistance throughout the world.
We invite you to join in our celebrations this May. The adventure begins on Tuesday, May 20th at 8:00am with an Urban Field Trip. Preregistered participants will explore several stations within and around the Río Piedras river watershed. Transportation and water will be provided, but participants need to bring their own lunch.
On Wednesday, May 21st, we hope you’ll join us for a full-day of Science, Forestry, Management and Art talks, with keynote speakers from the International Institute of Tropical Forestry (IITF), USDA Forest Service, partner organizations, and academic institutions from Puerto Rico and the continental United States. Check-in begins at 8:30am on Wednesday, May 21, at the Fundación Luis Muñoz Marín in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico.
