Rebecca is collaborating with Paul Schroeder and Jay Austin at the Calhoun CZO on mineral weathering rates and the role of O-horizon fungal activity. This has also become a cross-CZO effort with parallel experiments being done at the Catalina-Jemez CZO. As a graduate student at the University of Arizona, Rebecca studied the effects of climate and landscape position on chemical denudation and mineral transformation in the Santa Catalina Mountains Critical Zone Observatory.
