Research Experience for Community College Students in Critical Zone Science interns gave talks and posters on their work on July 29 and 30, 2015.  A group of 10 interns worked with Boulder Creek CZO and CIRES mentors for 8 weeks this summer on research projects such as the influence of hillslope steepness on boulder size (Moana Sato and Greg Tucker), and the microbial metabolic activity in soils (Caihong VanderBurgh and Noah Fierer).  RECCS is designed to provide community college students with opportunities to conduct research with scientists and learn about critical zone science.  The project was featured in the Boulder Daily Camera Boulder Daily Camera, and Channel 9 News.  Learn about RECCS, a NSF-funded REU project, operated as a collaboration between BcCZO and CIRES
