Take taxi from airport to Hotel; it’s a 20min drive that cost approximately $US 25-30
Arrive in time for 6PM to 7PM reception and lecture by Dr. Ariel Lugo, Director of International Institute of Tropical Forestry and founding PI of Luquillo LTER program and San Juan Ultra program. Dinner is self-organized. There are many restaurants within walking distance.

PM: Site reports; ending with lecture on Luquillo CZO design and background on field trip Lunch will be provided at Hotel, Dinner is self-organized.
Leave Hotel at 8:30AM, return at 5PM
Lunch and snacks will be provided. The review committee will have lunch with LCZO graduate students. The CZO PI’s and NSF participants will have lunch with LCZO PI’s.
Short but relatively easy hikes in muddy terrain are required. Expect some rain (the Luquillo Mountains have an average of 3 showers per day and May is the rainiest month!)
Dinner: Self-organized at local restaurants. Review committee will meet to discuss recommendations and final report.
