    • a wet year,

    • a critically dry water year.
  • Explain the basic concepts of how a tree draws water up out of the soil in order to grow.
  • Describe the different places within a forest where water is stored.

In this activity, students can explore the concept of how fire can spread quickly in a dry densely populated forest. The students will be learning the meaning of density, the difference between wet year, dry year, and a critically dry year, and the basic concepts of how a tree draws water up out of the soil in order to grow.
