The Rutgers-Newark student chapter of the Society for Exploration Geophysics (SEG), in conjunction with graduate and undergraduate students from Temple University and City College of NY, recently visited the Christina River Basin CZO in Delaware to teach shallow earth geophysics. Along with the CZO workshop, the student chapters were invited to visit NSF by Tom Torgersen, program director in NSF's Division of Earth Sciences. During their NSF visit, the students gave presentations about their CZO research, discussed student involvement, and how applications of geophysical techniques would help to advance CZO science. Specifically, Derek Lichtner (Temple undergrad) presented his summer geophysical research project on the Shale Hills CZO.
