La Cueva CZO house in the Valles Caldera.

The logistical infrastructure for the Catalina-Jemez CZO includes primarily laboratories and modeling capabilities associated with the University of Arizona, as well as (through collaborative arrangement) on-site sample processing and routine analytical capabilities associated with the Science and Education Center of the Valles Caldera National Preserve in Jemez Springs, NM.

Since the Jemez is located at significant distance from the lead institution (UA), we are fortunate that the Science and Education Center includes lodging accommodations and a large industrial kitchen that meets the needs of individual or group meals for visiting, on-site field researchers.

The  Valles Caldera National Preserve is the permitting authority for all research conducted within the VCNP and must be consulted prior to gaining access to the field sites and conducting field research.
