I am very interested in testing hypotheses regarding the the interactions between evaporation and transpiration and the role they play in the water budget. I am interested in testing hypotheses regarding energy flow between plants and their environment; especially how water facilitates energy movement from the plant scale to the ecosystem scale and applying that information to such phenomenon as large scale tree die-off. Individual plant contributions to plant communities, ecosystems, nutrient cycling, and the water budget are also areas of great interest to me.
