This manuscript, led by Dan Richter with six Calzones co-authors, was just submitted to Biogeosciences Discussions.  The manuscript asserts that there are good historical and contemporary reasons to advance the biogeosciences across the world's long-term environmental networks, such as LTER and ILTER, EONs, NEON, and CZOs.
