Another Calhoun CZO record - gas reservoirs installed at 8.5m depth! Jay Austin, Zach Brecheisen, and Dan Richter only stopped at 8.5m because they hit water. Not content with just one 8.5m gas well, they augered a second 8.5m hole in a different plot in the same pine stand. One of the plots is in an area scheduled to be clearcut next year, while the other will remain in pine, so we will be able to see the effects of the land use change on soil gases all the way down to 8.5m.
