The Calhoun CZO is located in the Enoree District of Sumter National Forest, about 5 miles southwest of Union, SC, in and around the small town of Cross Keys.
As a new CZO, the logistical infrastructure at Calhoun is still a work in progress. In September 2016 we set up a base in a local house, renting 239 Pinegate Drive in Union, SC for our headquarters. Contact Dan Richter for access. For more about the house, see "Calhoun CZO Headquarters!" Formerly Calhoun scientists usually camped ($5) at the Sedalia Campground in the Enoree District of the Sumter National Forest (cold water, outhouse).
Accomodations are also available at several nearby motels in Union:
Researchers who are interested in working at the CZO should contact Dan Richter (Lead PI, drichter@duke.edu) and Will Cook (Project Manager, cwcook@duke.edu).
