We are interested in solute transport and transformation across the deep vadose zone, and how these signatures are imparted to groundwater and streams. At the ERCZO, we are leveraging the unique sampling capabilities of the Vadose Monitoring System to generate a dataset of major and trace cations and anions to directly test reactive transport simulations of this variably saturated section of the subsurface.
