The American Geophysical Union (AGU) has published a collection of more than 25 essays as commentaries in across its scientific journals highlighting the important role Earth and space science research plays in society. The collection is free and openly available. Topics span the range from deep space to natural hazards to understanding terrestrial and marine environments. Read the AGU press release on the collection.

CZO Steering Committee Member Gordan Grant (USDA Forest Service) and Eel River CZO PI Bill Dietrich (UC Berkeley) authored a commentary entitled "The frontier beneath our feet" in Water Resources Research. Grant and Dietrich highlight the questions CZ science helps to answer, the collaboration across disciplines and internationally, and some lessons learned from the availability of CZOs.
