An introduction to the Calhoun Critical Zone Observatory, by Justin Richardson and Dan Richter, illustrated by Alana McGillis has just been posted!

Thanks to Dr. Justin Richardson for the initial idea and follow though with his Calhoun CZO cartoon.

The cartoon is at the CZO blog that Justin has created, "Adventures in the Critical Zone", to which he invites all of us to write from time to time.  He especially invites students to blog, on a field trip, a study, an issue, etc., anything that pertains to our adventures in the cz!

On the hard science front, Justin is expert in rare earth elements and has completed a bulk analysis of rare earths down our 70-m core.  He'll soon be analyzing soluble phases in our archived solutions.
