• Setting & Research

  Research area 2 includes a small hardwood stand and an adjacent pine stand, with 2 vegetation plots in each land use treatment. The pine forest section was severely eroded and gullied and has been reforested over the last half century. Two soil pits, one in the pine stand, one in the hardwood, were constructed in October 2016 to investigate the soil profile down to 2m depth.
