I am a geomorphologist who uses field studies combined with radiocarbon and OSL dating to investigate 1) the feedbacks among wildfires, climate, vegetation and geomorphic response; 2) the role of soils in carbon storage and release and the influence of land-use and climate on carbon storage in soils; and 3) how feedbacks among climate and vegetation influence landform development on Quaternary timescales.
