MUSCATINE – In both sports and academics, universities often compete with one another, but one project is bringing together researchers from a handful of Midwestern institutions.

This week, about 30 students, professors and researchers from six schools met at the University of Iowa's Lucille A. Carver Mississippi Riverside Environmental Research Station in Muscatine for a three-day conference focusing on ways to best manage farmland and watersheds in the Midwest.
