I am interested in how natural and anthropogenic factors of the critical zone shape water resources. My work focuses on understanding coupled hydrological and biogeochemical processes operating in watersheds; and on quantifying cumulative effects on water quality. I was previously a coPI of the Southern Sierra CZO while at Berkeley; then shifted emphasis to working at the Shale Hills CZO since my move to Penn State. I conduct cross-site comparisons of water quality including multiple CZO sites and other reference catchments.
