Abstract

Our goal was to characterize the spatial and temporal variability of Fe reduction in the southeastern piedmont. Hypothesis: Significant Fe reduction occurs in first order watersheds of the Piedmont in response to extreme rainfall events and periods of low evapotranspiration. Conclusions: Fe reduction high at end of winter/beginning of spring and in response to extreme rainfall events. Carbon and H2O important. EMI not a good predictor of potential for Fe reduction.
