Abstract

We propose a probabilistic model to analyze the effect of hydrologic fluctuations on soil formation and weathering. The model consists of a system of differential equations which represents the chemistry in the weathering zone. The goal is to quantify the weathering rate as a function of climatic and soil parameters.
