Abstract

In this study, analytic formulation of the two dominant gullying processes, namely, plunge pool erosion and slab failure, to simulate the gullying processes in a small watershed (Holcombe branch) located within the domain of CCZO. In order to derive gully model parameters, gully features (e.g., depth and area) extracted from high-resolution LiDAR map are used. We used numerical model to assess the effectiveness of various gully treatment measures, namely, gully reshaping and revegetation, in stabilizing existing gullies.
