Digging Soil Pits at Reynolds Creek

Students dig a soil pit in Johnston Draw, Reynolds Creek Experimental Watershed. They made a time-lapse video during the early part of their work.

Earlier in March of this year (2015), students Nick Patton and Mitch Price dug a soil pit in Johnston Draw Watershed's rhyolitic upper terrace.  Their goals are to determine total mobile regolith depth and total soil carbon, as part of their projects:
  - "Determining Total Mobile Regolith Using Topography and Lithology"
  - "Topographic and Lithologic Controls on Soil Carbon in a Semi-Arid Environments."
