Inland Waters EarthCube Domain Workshop

MEETING/CONFERENCE

An EarthCube Domain End-User Workshop: Integrating the inland waters geochemistry, biogeochemistry and fluvial sedimentology communities

Boulder, Colorado, USA

Applications for in-person participation will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis through April 9th, or until the workshop is full.

This workshop will bring together a diverse community of scientists with wide-ranging expertise in the geochemistry, biogeochemistry and sedimentology of terrestrial surface waters. The overall goal is to define the most critical, widespread cyberinfrastructure and data management needs shared by this community, to guide the development of the US National Science Foundation (NSF) EarthCube cyberinfrastructure initiative and help define strategies that cross disciplinary barriers. These needs will encompass experimental, in-situ, geospatial and modeling data; and quantitative analytical and scaling approaches that enable integration of observations and process rates along flow paths across a range of temporal and spatial scales, from the sediment water interface to entire fluvial systems.

Workshop Conveners:

Emilio Mayorga (mayorga@apl.washington.edu)
Albert Kettner (kettner@colorado.edu).
