The Idaho State University's College of Science and Engineering held the first STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Day on February 18th. The event is a way for area junior high and high school students to engage in science and engineering demonstrations. Student and department organizations created competitions and activities to involve students in hands-on science including molecular biology, bridge building, geology, and soil science. Students and staff from the Reynolds Creek CZO interacted with ~140 students through a soil forensics activity highlighting the importance of studying soil properties.
