Two REU students will work on CZO seismic surveying this summer

Geology undergraduate Greg Bailey (B.S. Dec 2013) and recent geology graduate Alexander Neely (B.S. May 2013) have been awarded summer 2013 Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU’s).  Both will work closely with Postdoctoral Fellow Brian Clarke and PI Eric Kirby to preform seismic surveys within the catchment and learn analytical techniques using GIS.   Building upon topics recently learned from the geomorphology curriculum, the students will get a “hands-on” experience from the field project to an understanding of river and hillslope processes in Shale Hills and Young Woman’s Creek watersheds.
