The fourth year of the TeenShale Network water quality monitoring project closes this evening with a poster presentation of their research at the annual Shale Network Workshop. This academic year, twenty-two students ranging from 8th through 11th grade at State College High School have learned about water quality, land use, and hydraulic fracturing in Pennsylvania. Students engaged in stream sample analyses, presented research project at Allegheny College Spring Student Symposia, and published a student-byline article in the local Centre Daily Times (see link below).
