SSHCZO faculty and students--

This weekend is the opening of archery season and the start of big game seasons in PA. While our previous work was focused at Shale Hills, which is marked as a Safety Zone by PSU, some of our other new sites, particularly below Lake Perez and at Garner Run, are fully open to hunting. Students and faculty are advised to wear bright colors when in the field. Specific requirements for hunters per the PA Game Commission are outlined here:

If groups need proper safety attire, safety orange hats and vests can be purchased at most sporting goods stores in the area at relatively low cost. Please let me know if you have any concerns about field safety.
