In a four day workshop focused on reactive transport modeling, PI Chris Duffy and his research group teach the finer points of the Penn State Integrated Hydrologic Modeling System (PIHM) to 40 international student-researchers. During the workshop, students were introduced to the unique aspects of PIHM. Two hands-on training sessions provided the participants an opportunity to work through the processing steps, one by one, using data from the Shale Hills CZO (0.08 km2) as well as the much larger Young Womans Creek watershed (230.7 km2). As a result, participants are able to model a watershed of any scale.
