Catalina-Jemez, INVESTIGATOR
Many global climatic changes are felt on the ground where humans live, grow their food, and where natural hazards can threaten life and property. Earth System Models are very successful at making broad-scale predictions of many important variables and processes, but attempts to translate ESM forecasts into forecasts of CZ processes and related natural hazards are still in their infancy. In this webinar, Jon discusses opportunities for CZ scientists to use ESM forecasts to make site-specific forecasts of CZ processes of critical importance to society and to provide ESMs with improved input datasets and component models representing CZ processes.
